A Full Range of Pulmonary Function Testing Using Progressive Technology
Hometown Health Clinic uses pulmonary function tests to diagnose an array of lung conditions. Using various diagnostic tools, we are able to determine the type and severity of a patient’s condition and provide useful information to staff members. With this information, providers can choose the best treatment methods, learn more about each condition, and offer top-of-the-line care.
Patients of Hometown Health Clinic have available to them a full range of pulmonary function testing using progressive technology. Some of these tests may include:
- Spirometry: This is the most common type of lung function test. It measures how much and how quickly you can move air in and out of your lungs.
- Lung volume test: This test measures the amount of air you can hold in your lungs and the amount of air that remains after you exhale (breathe out) as much as you can.
- Gas diffusion test: A test to measure how oxygen and other gases move from the lungs to the bloodstream.
- 6-minute walk test: This test looks at how exercise affects lung function.
The results are viewed by our physicians to monitor lung function, fine-tune medications, and create a health plan, including both treatment and preventative measures.
